STRONGER, FULLER, HEALTHY LASHES… IS IT JUST A DREAM?

Wow I hadn’t even realized how much time had passed since I last wrote! What a horrible person I am. I left you with a warning to stay away from RapidLash and never gave you an alternative. I AM SO SORRY it will not happen again!

Well here is my Number one option for Lash strength, conditioning, growth and my number 1 reason i am such a fan….. If used while wearing lash extensions it helps to increase the life of them! YES IT WORKS! Yes you can have stronger, fuller, healthier lashes!

I have clients who were coming every 2 to 3 weeks for fills that have now started scheduling appointments as far as 6 weeks out! NO JOKE i promise.

Introducing Lilash

Image

Lilash Eyelash Stimulator is being distributed by manufacturer Cosmetic Alchemy as an eyelash growth enhancer, which not only promises to lengthen eyelashes but also to increase the volume and strengthen each lash.

For those women who have heard about Lilash but want to learn more, the big question on their minds is “How does it work?”

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To answer this question, we need to take a closer look at the ingredients of Lilash. One of its main ingredients is Lupinus albus (commonly known as white lupin) seed extract.

This extract contains the factor that stimulates eyelash growth. Lilash also contains Prunus amygdalus (or almond) seed extract, which accords protection to each eyelash thereby giving it protection. Another key ingredient is panthenol, a moisturizing agent that keeps eyelashes supple and glossy and less prone to breakage. Silica prevents the eyelashes from breaking.

Other listed ingredients in Lilash, such as chlorphenesin, 18,19,20-Trinorprosta-5Z and 15S-trihydroxy-17Phenyl just to name a few, act in concert to stimulate growth and volume increase in each eyelash strand.

HOW TO USE LiLash

Application of Lilash is very simple, just like when you use liquid eyeliner. Carefully apply it to the upper eyelash line daily, making sure that the solution does not get into the eyes. The manufacturers guarantee eyelash growth in 4 to 6 weeks of continuous use.

PROS

It works!

90 DAY MONEY BACK GUARENTEE

Increases life of lash extensions.

Gives you a stronger, fuller healthier lash!

One main advantage to using Lilash is that it does not contain sodium chloride, so it is not too irritating to the eyes.

Another advantage is that it comes in a large tube that can last for 5 to 6 months.

Many who have tried Lilash have reported their eyelashes to be fuller and suppler because of its added conditioning effect.

I have yet to find a review that claims LiLash does not work!

CONS

It is pricey at $140 a tube.

Counterfeits are being sold all over Ebay and Amazon.

Even though it does say hypo-allergenic it can cause itchiness and red eyes to extremely sensitive people.

If you can not reach me to purchase make sure your buying direct from http://www.lilash.com

Here are the FAQ’S on their website to give you some insight on their claims.

Q: How do I apply LiLash™?
Apply LiLash™ to the skin of the eyelid as you would apply liquid eyeliner. Do not apply to the lower lashes. Please look at the Application Instructions for further information.

Q: How do I maintain my long lashes?
Use LiLash™ once daily for eight to twelve weeks. Once you are satisfied with your lashes, reduce use to two times a week.

Q: How long does a tube of LiLash™ last?
Your tube of LiLash™ will last for up to six months if used daily as recommended. Once opened, the formula will remain active for 9 months. Unopened, a tube of LiLash™ is good for 24 months.

Q: Will LiLash™ change my eye color?
The shades of green and blue that make your eye color unique to you will remain the same with correct application of LiLash™. Cosmetic Alchemy has never received any reports from our customers of a change in their eye color with proper application of LiLash™. Application Instructions

Q: My eyes are irritated, itchy, or red from the product, what should I do?
The skin surrounding your eyes is highly sensitive. Certain individuals may be sensitive to one or more of the ingredients in LiLash™. If mild or moderate redness or irritation occur, discontinue use of the product at least temporarily until symptoms resolve. Mild irritation can occur with incorrect application of LiLash™. Application Instructions

Q: I noticed some skin discoloration where I apply LiLash™, should I be concerned?
Some customers have noted a slight darkening of the skin on the eyelid where they have applied LiLash™ over a prolonged period of time. In most situations this will naturally fade with discontinued use of the product.

Q: Is LiLash™ safe during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding?
LiLash™ has not been tested in all situations; therefore we do not recommend using LiLash™ during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Q: Can you use LiLash™ on your brows?
LiBrow™ works best to enhance your brows. Specifically formulated to thicken, fill-out, and darken the hair for bold, enchanting arches.

Q: What are the ingredients in LiLash™?
Water/Agua/Eau, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet Almond) Extract, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Panthenol, Isopropanol Phenylhydroxypentene Dihydroxycyclopentylheptenate, Silica, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol.

**We at Cosmetic Alchemy do not believe in animal testing. LiLash™ has never been tested on animals.

Hope this info helps!

RAPID LASH Beware Be Careful & Be Smart

Lash Serums are taking over!

This is what i am questioning, i haven’t yet formed a solid stance either way but i love to share, educated and hear your opinion. Consider this… its hypothetical, facts came from the top of my imaginative head…

7 out 10 people use some product could be diet pills, hair growth serum, even lipstick and had great results. However lets say this product contains something that is or maybe even isn’t labeled and the other 3 have horrible side effects. Is it fair to still offer this product and allow it to be sold and not need to be regulated by FDA.

When products are not regulated they can claim what they want and label package with misinformation?

I love and support products that go through volunteered testing by M.D.’s or Informed Choice! Now that is just great quality service, shows the level of pride a company has and can put your mind at ease.

It wasn’t that long ago that Jan Marini received an FDA wrist slap that reverberated throughout the skincare industry for selling an eyelash conditioner with unapproved ingredient bimatoprost. Eyelash growth products are taking it on the chin again, this time the FDA has sent a warning letter to LifeTech Resources, manufacturer of RapidLash Eyelash Renewal SerumNeuLash Active Eyelash Technology andNeuveauBrow Active Eyebrow Technology.

These particular eyelash extenders and eyelash regrowth serums contain Isopropyl Cloprostenate – a synthetic prostaglandin analog very similar to bimatoprost. (Bimatoprost is the active ingredients in FDA-approved drugs used to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients.)

Adverse events associated with prostaglandin analogs for ophthalmic use include ocular irritation, hyperemia, iris color change, macular edema, ocular inflammation, and interference with glaucoma therapy – all things best avoided for our clients. In addition, prostaglandin analogs for ophthalmic use are currently classified as Pregnancy Class C. (This classification means that there have been no human studies of the drug, but that animal studies have revealed some potential abnormalities.)

You can read more on the FDA Website The FDA also says ” If you currently distribute or use lash or brow conditioner, we urge you to carefully review your brand’s ingredient list to avoid possible regulatory and consumer issues.” It’s worth looking at your eyelash growth products to determine the active ingredient. Here’s the ingredient list for Rapid Lash:

Water (Aqua), Rhizobian Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Biotin (Vitamin H), Panthenol, Pantethine, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Allantoin (Comfrey Root), Cucurbita Pepo Seed Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Licorice Root), Sea Water, Octapeptide 2, Copper Tripeptide 1 Alcohol Denatured, Isopropyl Cloprostenate, Polypeptide 23, Glycine Soja (Soybean Oil), Glycerin, Phosphatidylcholine, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenisen, Sorbic Acid (A Preservative)

If your are carrying Rapid Lash, or any other product with Isopropyl Cloprostenate you should call your rep and find out what your next steps should be. It’s logical to assume that you should not have the product on your shelves. You’ll also want to find out from your Rep how to deal with any clients that return their lash growth product.

Tomorrow i will have info on which Lash Serums are people safe and friendly!

Well now wasnt that some education for you Lash Lovers!

Know YOUR Curl Style!

What’s YOUR Curl Style? WAIT… What is a Curl Style?

It amazes me when new clients come in and tell me they have been getting their lashes done for… let’s say 6 months, a year or even 3 years… and I proceed to ask what style, look, curl or length do you usually prefer and can you believe it 99 times out of 100 no one ever knows!

Well if you haven’t read my older blogs, I do have a breakdown of different types of eyelash extensions. A curl style is determined usually by the letter (some brands choose to rename these but they are standard and any Trained Lash Artist will know exactly what you are referring to.) Most common are J’s, B’s and C’s. Rising in popularity are D’s, L’s, and O’s.

Of course many different things go into the decision of choosing the RIGHT eyelash extensions for your application. From physical traits like eye shape and natural lash properties to lifestyle indicators like maintenance routine and activity choices, a number of items are evaluated by your stylist to select the best eyelash extension lengths, thicknesses and curls for your application.

BUT… all other things being equal, there’s a definite “look” that comes with each different eyelash curl.

While you can modify that look to emphasize different features and tone down or turn up the curl quotient through creative length choices and placements, if you were to do a side by side comparison of curls using a basic frame of eyelash extensions in the exact same lengths, a certain “style” would emerge for each.

So what’s YOUR Lustful Lashes curl style?

J LASH – THE NATURAL BEAUTY

Eye-deal Style: You prefer an au natural appearance and may frequently brave the world bare-faced, with eyelash extensions being your only cosmetic addition.

Eye-deal Use: J’s have the least amount of curl, making them the least dramatic of all the Lustful Lashes extensions. Unsure if eyelash extensions are for you? These may be the ones to start with! Happy with the curve of your straight to slightly curled natural lashes? These are an excellent addition! J’s will add length and thickness without upgrading your curl.

NOT Eye-deal For: Those with downward pointing lashes – these lashes can further emphasize a downward slope.

B LASH – THE FLIRTY GIRL NEXT DOOR

Eye-deal Style: You like to be a little done up, but not too much; a touch of gloss on the lips, a little liner on the eyes and you’re good to go on most days!

Eye-deal Use: Get a soft, flirty and feminine curl with the B eyelashes. This is the lash that probably comes closest to the curve of the average person’s natural lash and it’s an excellent option for all lash types and eye shapes.

NOT Eye-deal For: N/A – When in doubt, this is probably your “go to” lash!

C LASH – THE GIRLY GIRL

Eye-deal Style: You like to dress up, flaunt your fashionable side and even get a bit flashy from time to time. All-out glamour isn’t a necessity for you, but it is a frequently exercised option. You rarely head out of the house without a bit of color on your lids, a dusting of blush and a sweep of mascara on your eyelashes.

Eye-deal Use: The C eyelashes are the most universally popular extensions in the Lustful Lashes line. If you want a noticeable increase in curl, one that compares to your hand-held lash curler, the Cs are going to give you that look. They’re dramatic and different from your natural lashes without being over the top.

NOT Eye-deal For: Heavy lidded or deep set eyes – the increased upward slope on Cs may cause them to touch the skin above eyes that are hooded or deeply set. J’s reach outward a bit more before swooping up, making them a better option for some.

D LASH – THE DRAMA QUEEN

Eye-deal Style: You are a scene-stealer and a showstopper. Ultra-glam is your everyday aspiration! You like to be fully “made-up” more often than not, with dramatic eyes, and may even include false lashes in your daily routine.

Eye-deal Use: D’s are the vixen lashes of the Lustful line. If you’re after a high drama appearance and want doll-like, doe-eyed lashes, these are the extensions for you! WARNING – not for the weak or faint-hearted! These eyelashes are for full-blown, flirtatious flutters!

NOT Eye-deal For: Protruding, round eyes or those with downward pointing lashes – the dramatic upturn of the D’s creates a noticeable separation (split end-like affect) when applied to downward pointing lashes since they’re headed in opposite directions.

Please be sure to always fully discuss your options with your eyelash extension stylist. They’re trained to ensure you get the right look for you, after evaluating ALL the factors involved! Every eye is different no two looks are ever the same. So it is important to get the right lash for YOU and not the Lash that looked amazing on your friend. You and your Lash Artist should be making these decisions together. Remember your eyes are pretty important part of your face so shouldn’t you know what is on them?!

STAY EDUCATED LASH LOVERS!

What are you putting on your eyes?! Krazy Glue?!

Myths about “Lash Glue”

Eyelash Extensions FDA APPROVED?

There is not a single eyelash extension “glue” or adhesive that is FDA approved. Some manufactures lead you to believe that their glue is FDA approved when really their glue is simply with in FDA guidelines for not having more than 2% formaldehyde as a preservative. It is simple, most cosmetics in the USA contain preservatives and many use formaldehydes. This includes your shampoos, makeup and various other products. Many dry cleaners use formaldehyde. Some people have an allergy to formaldehyde and it could cause a reaction to the eyelash extension adhesive. So, many extension companies manufacture adhesives that do not contain it but not a single eyelash extension glue has an FDA approval.

Is the lash extension adhesive “surgical grade”?

Eyelash extension adhesives are not used in surgery or used to glue soft tissue on humans. This is another silly marketing tactic. Please ask what medical facility or organization is using the eyelash glue in a medical procedure if you are told this rubbish. Adhesive produced for medical applications has some similarities and may share an ingredient or two with eyelash extension adhesives but it is doubtful that if the local hospital runs out of surgical glue that they will reach for some eyelash glue.

The fact is, eyelash extension adhesive is supposed to be applied to eyelash hair. It is not to be applied to the skin like surgical glue. Any time a technician uses too much glue or poorly applies the extensions so the glue contacts the skin, there are going to be issues. This stuff is strong. It has to be to use so very little of it and still have the holding strength to last as long as it does.  It is supposed to be expertly applied by a licensed, experienced technician so no glue comes in contact with the skin.

Safe, quality glue is important but no matter how safe the manufacturer claims the glue is, it is the skill of the lash artist that ensures ultimate safety, quality and comfort. Adhesive is important but the best adhesive doesn’t ensure an excellent eyelash experience, that experience is in the hands of the technician.

Do not wash your lashes for 24 hours.

For those with sensitivities to the various products in the procedure this is AMAZING! Think about it – if you go to a picnic, and you get itchy from the grass every time you go on one, what do you do? You take a shower when you get home! You wash off the traces of the allergen!

While our eyelash extension adhesive is a similar animal to “Krazy Glue”, it is not actually the same thing. for instance, crazy glue emits heat when it cures – completely inappropriate for contact anywhere near the eyes. It actually isn’t even a glue its an adhesive more similar to a rubber then a glue. The active ingredient is Cyanoacrylates. Cyanoacrylates do not dry, but instead “cure” as they are met with a catalyst like water or alcohol. Water is by far the simplest activator to use around the eyes. We also know that when cured (thorough cure is achieved in 24 hours *if* left to cure naturally, drawing moisture from the ambient air), this adhesive is an inert plastic. Once it is cured, it is harmless – inert. It no longer is capable of being an irritant. AND-It is waterproof to a reasonable extent. If soaked (submerged) in water for a long period of time, it will degrade and lose its strength of bond. If just subjected to washing, showering, etc; no problem. We can force a cure (using hydrogen as the accelerator – in the form of a cool mist from a compression nebulizer or a dampened disposable applicator or our primers or sealers!). That way, as long as the lashes are separated and cured, the client can wash their lashes in 2-4 hours. WOW-WOW-WOW!

Smarty Pants Tip** Ask your Lash Artist if she has cured your lashes if at the end of application a sealer, nebulizer, or a hydro mist has not been applied.
